We’re a student-run marketing and communications agency powered by the next generation of strategists, storytellers, and brand builders. Guided by faculty mentors and fueled by curiosity, we take on real clients and real challenges — crafting ideas that move audiences, spark conversations, and make measurable impact in the world.
The Adler Agency originated within the University of Iowa School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Students within the agency have a variety of backgrounds in multimedia, writing, and strategic communication.
Where we’re located

FAQs
-
Organizations interested in working with the agency can fill out our Client Inquiry Form on the website. The faculty advisors review submissions each semester to select projects that align with our students’ skill sets, learning outcomes, and semester schedule.
-
Students can apply each semester through an application and interview process. We look for students who bring a mix of strategic thinking, creativity, and collaboration—whether their interests lie in writing, design, content creation, research, media, or client relations.
-
We collaborate with both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. From startups and local businesses to community initiatives and established brands. Each client engagement is selected based on the educational value it provides for students and the real-world impact it has the opportunity to realize.
-
There are two types of clients we work with each semester, one being a non-profit client that we do not charge for our service and the second being a for profit client who pays Adler Agency on a sliding scale, depending on the complexity of the assignment, timing, creative inclusions and other factors. We have a sliding scale rate card that takes into consideration each potential assignment and which can be provided on request.
-
Most projects run for the duration of a semester (approximately 14-15 weeks). During that time, teams conduct research, develop strategy and creative concepts, produce deliverables, and present final work to clients. Multi-semester partnerships have been accepted and may be available for ongoing campaigns.
